California is one of the few states, the major incentive for a hybrid vehicle purchase. This incentive is not limited to tax credits just like other countries. You can avoid lane highway; parking privilege, if you are the driving force hybrid vehicle. Even some of the city offer Californians advantage in hybrid cars. Here are some benefits in California for the purchase of hybrid vehicles:
State hybrid HOV: On Jan 1, 2005, CA allows hybrid electric vehicles, which is at least 45mpg and assessments SULEV emissions to use high Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes irrespective of the number of passengers in the vehicle. From 8 / 10, the incentive is now in operation. Current eligible vehicles are the Toyota Prius, Honda Insight and Honda Civic Hybrid. The vehicles must comply with special stickers to HOV lanes. San Jose hybrid Free Parking: Free parking in the city of San Jose public park and on the street meters throughout the city for the Clean - drives purchased in San Jose. 1/1/03 began. Participation conditions - - Jason Burton (408) 794-1427, jason.burton @ ci.sj.ca.us.
Los Angeles hybrid Free Parking - Gas-electric hybrid cars can park at parking meters for free, but it can still be punished for exceeding the time limit for the allocation metered spaces. It went over 6 months trial period from October 2004 to March 2005. The LA City Council recently voted to extend the incentive to May 2005, during the LA Department of Transportation prepares an evaluation. Police officers were hybrid cars to see.
If a Zero Emission Vehicle or Super Low Emission Vehicle, as defined by the California Air Resources Board, you can create a California Clean Air Vehicle decor from the California Department of Motor Vehicles. If you bought, and the affixing of stickers to your vehicle DMV per instructions, which you can park without depositing coins in the metered parking spaces (but you remain subject to the limitations, the time limit) in the whole city. According to a representative in the LA Department of Transporation, four Hybrid vehicles were entitled to the free metered parking privileges during the pilot program: Toyota Prius, Honda Civic Hybrid, Honda Insight and Ford Escape hybrid.

Insurance discount for hybrids (private): Los Angeles-Farmers Insurance Company offers a 5 percent discount on auto insurance in California to drive customer-electric hybrid models. The discount, 1 October 2005, is available for all customers who own a hybrid or alternative-fuel vehicle. All new customers will receive the discount date of the new company and existing customers will receive the discount on renewal.
Hybrid Tax Credit (invoice recipients): AB 838 would the buyers of hybrid vehicles a credit against the net tax in the amount of a certain percentage of the amount paid as a vehicle license fee (VLF) in the taxable year. The proportion of loans depends on the emissions ratings. ZEV autos would receive 100 percent of the loans, PZEVs 90 percent, ATPZEVs 85 percent, and 80 percent SULEVs. ULEVs would also qualify if the vehicle will receive an EPA-raded 75 mpg or higher (75 percent of the loans), or between 33 and 75 mpg (between 33 percent and 74 percent, respectively). The bill was not passed in the 2005 legislative session.
Hybrid Internet Sales (invoice recipients): AB 1223 would allow the direct sale of hybrid vehicles from the manufacturers to the customers without having to go through a dealer. The bill failed, the Transport Committee on 5/2/05.
Santa Barbara County, Kentucky incentives for hybrids: Incentive funding ($ 1,000) for up to ten (10) hybrid vehicles is available for Santa Barbara Air Pollution Control District residents. Funding is currently exhausted. -- Irene Salazar ISalazar@energy.state.ca.us. Competent authority - California Energy Commission. The program ended in the 30th March 2004 and is no longer in effect.
